The MP high court directed the state government not to issue appointment letters to candidates selected in the police constable recruitment test-2020 without permission of the court. The bench of Justice Vishal Dhagat passed the interim order to this effect while hearing a petition filed by 15 people, who, too, had appeared in the test.

Advocate Narinderpal Singh Ruprah, who appeared in the case on behalf of the petitioners, said that in the result of the test declared on November 12, 2022, marks obtained by the petitioners were more than the cult off marks in their respective categories, yet they were declared “fail”, making them to move court challenging the selection list.

The petitioners contended that they had cleared the written test and they were called for the physical test. They cleared the physical test as well and then they waited for the final results. When the result was declared on November 12, 2022, their names were not there among the selected candidates.

When they went to police headquarters and the office of the Professional Examination Board, they were orally informed that there was some problem with their employment exchange registration.

The registration of all the petitioners had expired during the Covid pandemic and they got it renewed before the physical test. They were allowed to appear in the written and the physical test and now they are being told that they had failed in the test.
